Onboarding checklist
Firm owners and administrators setting up a new Assisterp tenant use Onboarding to track initial setup progress across tasks, meetings, invoices, clients, organization settings, employees and roles, and workflow settings.
Open Onboarding
Section titled “Open Onboarding”- Sign in to Assisterp.
- Select Onboarding at the top of the left sidebar. A badge next to it shows how many setup items are still missing.
Onboarding opens directly on its Setup checklist tab.
Work through the checklist
Section titled “Work through the checklist”The checklist is grouped into sections, each covering a set of setup items:
- Tasks: create a task, a recurring task, a task template, and an unscheduled task.
- Meetings: create a meeting, a meeting template, a recurring meeting, and an unscheduled meeting.
- Invoices: create an invoice, a recurring invoice, and an invoice template.
- Clients: create a contact, a client group, an individual client, and a business client.
- Organization: review the organization profile, confirm branding & logo, add an organization address, configure the E-Transfer email, review display settings, configure business hours, create your first additional branch, review service settings, and configure a payment gateway.
- Employees & Roles: add your first team member, create your first custom role, create your first custom designation, and create an employee group.
- Workflow Settings: create your first custom pipeline, create a pipeline trigger, and create your first custom job template.
Selecting an item navigates to the matching setup screen (for example, “Create your first custom role” opens Settings > Employees & Roles > Roles).
Each item shows a status: Missing, Completed, or Skipped. Use the All, Missing, Completed, and Skipped buttons above the checklist to filter by status.
For a missing item:
- Select Skip to set it aside. A confirmation step appears before the item is marked skipped.
- Select Mark complete to close it out yourself without navigating to the linked screen.
A completed or skipped item can show a Reopen control to return it to Missing.
The summary bar above the checklist shows the percentage of items resolved and a count of missing, completed, and skipped items.
Most items complete automatically once the matching record exists — for example, adding an employee completes “Add your first team member” without needing to select Mark complete. Organization items, other than creating an additional branch, only change status when you select Mark complete or Skip yourself.
